Peningkatan kebutuhan energi dunia relatif mengalami peningkatan yang cukup signifikan dari tahun ke tahun. Kebutuhan akan Energi Baru Terbarukan (EBT) juga meningkat seiring dengan menurunnya cadangan fosil. Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) menajdi salah satu alternatif sumber EBT pengembangan teknologinya berkembang dalam beberapa dekade terakhir. Umumnya OTEC menggunakan barge sebagai struktur apung penyangganya, namun bertambahnya kedalaman perairan menjadi tidak lagi ekonomis. Tipe Tensioned Leg Platform (TLP) solusi pada daerah (>1000m). Struktur OTEC-TLP terdiri ponton dan kolom ditambatkan secara taut memanfaatkan daya apung. Daya ini dipengaruhi oleh perbedaan sarat air saat kondisi free floating tertambat (DT). Perubahan DT mempengaruhi parameter hidrodinamika massa tambah, kekakuan, periode alami, gaya respon struktur. Studi dilakukan untuk mengidentifikasi pengaruh terhadap sensitivitas pendekatan analitik. Persamaan Morison digunakan studi analitik menyelesaikan gerakan surge. Berdasakan dilakukan, semakin besar DT, menyebabkan kenaikan Periode alami rendah memiliki nilai lebih dibandingkan besar, keduanya jika gelombang dominan (2 – 30s).
